From this angle, it looks like love…

Every morning, I take our dogs for a 1.7 mile “walk around the block”. Our “block” is a gravel rural loop road with beautiful mountain views, a couple of good, steep hills, bountiful jack rabbits, ground squirrels and birds to chase and good, clean, fresh country air. It is a reasonably modest workout for me and my fiancé accompanies us most of the time.
Today I passed a small rock in the road that I recognized for the umpteenth time. It stands out because it is white set against most of the other drab gray rocks. It is probably quartz, although I have not picked it up to examine it.
I’ve been thinking about that rock today and how, as I approach it, it looks like a heart. I collect heart shaped rocks, so I am always on the lookout to find another one to add to my collection.
When I saw the white rock this morning, I said to myself. “From this angle, it looks like love…”. Meaning that, as I approached it, the rock looked heart shaped. It actually isn’t, but it got me thinking about how we “see” things.
Wouldn’t it be nice if everything I looked at made me think “From this angle, it looks like LOVE…” ?
I believe that the way we see things makes all the difference in keeping a love relationship romantic and fresh. That little rock reminded me to don my rose colored glasses and start “seeing” more love in my life!
I already know that seeing and appreciating all the love in my life is a perfect way to create more, if I can just remember to look at everything from my loving perspective.
Never mind that the rock isn’t really a heart. Not every gesture my fiancé makes is romantic either! (I know, shocking, isn’t it? LOL) I get to choose how I’m going to “see”. So, I’m going to leave that little rock right there in the middle of the road and use it as a small beacon of romance; a gentle reminder each morning to look with my amorous eyes.
Don’t get me wrong, I know I am extraordinarily blessed with a wonderful life partner and a magnificent relationship. But you know how it is, sometimes it’s easy to lose focus… we get busy… distracted… preoccupied…
As the sun burns through the morning mist warming my shoulders and dissolving the frost decorating each golden blade of roadside grass, our ever joyful dogs dance and prance toward home. And from this angle…..

Ways to Increase Your Romantic Compatibility

Are you just looking for a second chance at romance? Don’t let them slip away!

Romantic Art: Lovers Point

Romantic Art: Lovers Point

A love relationship is like a greenhouse plant, requiring care and proper nourishment to thrive. Without attention it will wither and die. Don’t make the mistake of neglecting your romance!

The way you “see” your beloved is the fuel that feeds your romantic connection and inspires the blossoming of romantic compatibility. I think Marianne Williams says it very well:

“We can always choose to perceive things differently. You can focus on what’s wrong in your life, or you can focus on what’s right.”

Make a point of focusing on what you love about your mate. If it is hard to think of something in the here and now, then dip into your romantic past with them. Allow yourself to feel the feelings of new love, passion and excitement, cozy connection and heartfelt desire. Look at them through your rose-colored (heart shaped!) glasses! Pretty soon they will begin to respond positively to your loving perspective.

This REALLY works! Try it!

When the conditions are right, a well-cared for relationship will yield a lifetime of romantic rewards. And who doesn’t want that?

It is completely up to you to decide just how romantic your love relationship is going to be. Yes, YOU!
